2011 - The year in review

If you want to know busy, try working at a software company.  Here's a brief overview of what happened in 2011

Released HelpMaster v11

The highlight of any software development company is a major product release.  HelpMaster v11  had so many new features, that it was hard to put them all in writing.  Still, here's what we came up with.  http://www.helpmasterpro.com/Products/What-is-new-for-HelpMaster-v11.aspx

The v11 API and AddIn capabilities also allowed us to integration with 3rd Party solution providers such as www.NiceReply.com, maps.google.com and others.  There are a lot more integrations coming, so stay tuned.

The office whiteboards copped an absolute hiding in 2011.  We went through many markers and drew a lot of diagrams.  Notable whiteboarding included designs for the new multi-time features, knowledge centered support (KCS), Email Management, and the web.  Here's just a sample of some of them.

2012 should see some great releases of HelpMaster.  Remember to keep an eye on the HelpMaster RoadMap, and keep your suggestions and support coming.

Started the popular "Email Manager Pattern of the Week series"

The Email Manager is a powerful HelpMaster module.  If you use email, you've gotta check out the Email Manager.  Its rules-based processing logic and template-driven logging system can manage ever the most demanding inbox.

New sales, new clients, old clients

PRD Software welcomes a whole range of new clients from all over the world.  Great to see Middle-Eastern countries feature again in our list of clients.

In 2011 HelpMaster was newly implemented in the following sectors:

  • Major communications companies
  • Oil refining company
  • Small business
  • Government departments
  • Retail
  • High-tech
  • a lot of out-sourced IT providers

Welcome back to HelpMaster

It was also great to see quite a few older clients come back on board after a brief implementations of other software.  Sometimes corporate take-overs, company buy-outs and change of management mean that we lose a client.  In 2011, we welcomed back several companies back to HelpMaster.  I suspect some of the top-tier product managers in this industry are Googling "Who is HelpMaster?".  They should be!

New distributors

We're always looking for new partners to help us fly the HelpMaster flag.  2011 was a busy year for negotiations with potential resellers.  We're close to signing several local and international resellers and distributors of our helpdesk software.

If you're interested in reselling HelpMaster, or getting involved in the consulting and training in the helpdesk/ITSM industry, please let us know.

International helpdesk consulting

PRD Software engaged a lot of training in 2011, and it was great to see businesses and organizations that use HelpMaster for their helpdesk, team or service desk investing in training and consulting.  As a result, the PRD Software virtual and physical passport collected a lot of new stamps.  Notable consulting and training locations included the Phillipines, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Italy, Oman, Papua New Guinea and the UK.

Went social

2011 was another active year of marketing, socializing and exhibiting for PRD Software and HelpMaster.

PRD Software got involved....like we always do.

Helpdesk software tradeshow
What a whirlwind 3 days.  Darling Harbour, Sydney Australia.  30,000 people over 3 days.  We did heaps of product demos, ran out of product brochures and spoke to helpdeskers, students and managers from every industry type.  What a great event.  Read the blog recap.  See us again in 2012.

A year of certifications and logos

  • Accredited for the "Australian Made" logo
  • Certified for Windows 7 logo
  • Even PRD Software got a new logo for the company
